TIFTON—Lasseter Tractor of Tifton continued its strong relationship with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College recently by donating the use of a John Deere 7200 R tractor with full RTK Guidance System to the J.G. Woodroof Farm at the college.
“Over the last few years, we’ve worked through ABAC to create what we believe is one of the strongest internship programs in South Georgia,” Carlton Self, store manager for Lasseter Tractor of Tifton, said. “The program provides students experiential learning opportunities at our dealership locations and helps us identify young individuals who will grow into key contributors within our organization.
“Lasseter Tractor is proud to provide a tractor for ABAC to use on its farm. We recognize all that ABAC does from an educational standpoint and the contributions it makes to our community. ABAC has long been a valuable partner for the Lasseter organization since it produced many of the folks on our staff today.”
Dr. Mark Kistler, Dean of the ABAC School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, appreciates the longstanding commitment of Lasseter Tractor.
“We continue to be thankful for our long-term relationship with Lasseter Tractor,” Kistler said. “Lasseter continues to support our farm operations and students with the loan of a John Deere tractor every year, as well as supporting our school programs through field days, sponsorship of our annual SANR Golf Classic tournament, and providing internship opportunities to our students.
“It truly has been a mutually beneficial relationship, and I look forward to this partnership for many more years to come.”
Self believes in supporting Georgia’s top industry, agriculture.
“We are proud to be located in Tifton and proud to be a part of the Georgia agricultural community,” Self said. “We invite folks to come see us on South Carpenter Road.”
