We offer both a traditional track to becoming an RN and an option for practical nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists to become registered in just one year through the Bridge track.

The Department of Nursing at ABAC offers immersive and comprehensive programs that teach students to provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support for patients and families. Our graduates leave prepared to enter the nursing field with hands-on, applicable experience and the confidence and skills necessary for success. This department offers options for those just beginning their nursing journey, as well as those with existing experience in health sciences.
RN-BSN Program Mission Statement
The ABAC RN-BSN program facilitates engaged student-centered learning by providing relevant experiences in a supportive community. To support the healthcare needs and welfare of the community and across the nation, the RN-BSN program prepares registered nursing professionals to assume leadership positions, utilize informatics in the performance of nursing research, and collaborate to manage complex clinical situations.

The ABAC ASN program’s mission is to prepare students to become professional registered nurses by providing foundational nursing knowledge and engaging students in relevant experiences. To meet the healthcare needs of diverse populations, the ABAC ASN graduate will utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills to deliver evidence-based nursing care safely and invest in continued professional learning to maintain excellence.

Job Placement
Our job placement is 100% in area hospitals, long-term care facilities, prisons, chemical dependency Rehabilitation units, Physician’s offices. Tift Regional Medical Center works with our students so they can intern on a Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) with specific preceptors. It is part of the student’s clinical experience but more individualized like an internship. Hospitals love to hire our students.

If you are applying to the ASN Bridge Program or the BSN Program, you will need to supply your license or certification number.
Please only access the “Accept Your Seat” link if you have been notified of your acceptance to the nursing program. Student documents, such as physical exams, drug screens, etc., are required following admission to the nursing program.
As of July 1, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education implemented new regulations that professional nursing programs (PN, RN and APRN) make public that the professional nursing curriculum meets or does not meet educational requirements for practice outside the state where the education was obtained.
Within the United States, each pre-licensure nursing program must meet educational requirements set forth by its individual state’s board of nursing. The NCLEX exam is a national licensing exam. Graduates of pre-licensure nursing programs are required to successfully pass the NCLEX exam to obtain licensure. Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College’s Associate of Science in Nursing program is approved by the Georgia State Board of Nursing and meets the necessary requirements for taking the NCLEX-RN exam and obtaining licensure in the state of Georgia as a Professional Registered Nurse.
