TIFTON – The sounds of “Mountain Music” and maybe even some “Dixieland Delight” will soon fill the air in the final installment of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s Tribute Series.
The “Boys in the Band: The Alabama Tribute” concert will light up the stage at the Howard Auditorium on ABAC’s campus on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m.
ABAC’s Tribute Series presents original artists and tribute bands representing some of the greatest performances of rock, soul, and rhythm and blues.
Members of Boys in the Band, like the musicians of Alabama itself, hail from Fort Payne, Ala., and aim to give the Alabama experience to lifelong fans and introduce the younger generations to the magic of the supergroup’s timeless music.
Highlighted by great energy and renditions of many Alabama classics, the “Boys in the Band” is led by vocalist John Michael Weatherly who, with long dark hair and beard, could pass for a relative of Alabama lead singer Randy Owen. Matty Croxton, Justin Walden, Gary Chumney, Daniel Barker, Craig Jacoway, Marcus Mullins, and Braxton Harris make up the rest of the band.
Tickets are $35 and are available by visiting https://www.artsatabac.com/ and clicking on the ABAC Tribute Series page.
