Helpful Tips for Verification:
- If your FAFSA was selected for verification by the Department of Education, you will receive an email from our office within 1 – 2 business days from the time we receive your FAFSA file. Remember, it takes 3 to 5 business days for us to receive your FAFSA from the Department of Education after you submit your FAFSA online.
- The email will be sent to the email address you listed on your FAFSA. The email will provide instructions on how to complete the verification process through the online platform.
- Follow the instructions in the email to create your account. Note: you MUST be accepted to the college to create an account.
- Go to https://abac.studentforms.com. Firefox is the preferred browser.
- From the ABAC Portal screen, enter your ABAC credentials and sign in.
- From the Account Creation screen, enter/confirm your student information.
- Click the ‘Create Account’ button.
- You will complete the Dependent/Independent Verification web form and upload any documentation that is listed in the portal.
- Use the data retrieval tool (DRT) to transfer your tax information from the IRS to the FAFSA, if at all possible. This reduces the verification processing time significantly.
- You can track your verification status on https://abac.studentforms.com. You will be notified when the process is complete.
- Sign up to receive text alerts messages during Account Creation to help track your verification status. Please remember that message and data rates may apply.
- Finally, DON’T DELAY! The sooner you complete the verification, the sooner your financial aid can be posted on your account.
