Business Networking

Networking in business is key to making contacts and opening doorsThe Stafford School of Business understands this and provides opportunities for students to meet future employers, colleagues and customersStudents visit local and national companies such as the TiftArea YMCA, Tifton Chamber of Commerce, Federal Reserve in Atlanta, and Chick-fil-A.  In addition to building post-graduation contacts, these meetings allow students to learn about strategic planning, logistics and inventory management, and business etiquette. 

The Business Advisory Council (BAC) for the Stafford School of Business is composed of accomplished business and community leaders who make a personal commitment in support of the Stafford School of Business and ABAC. Its main activities are in the areas of:

  • Student Engagement
  • Strategic and Curriculum Guidance
  • Networking and Fundraising Assistance

Internships

The internship program at the Stafford School of Business is a structured and supervised experiential learning process that provides students with practical experience in a field of their choosing.  It is an illustration of the relevance of the academic curriculum in the professional world, and a learning experience that provides for applying knowledge gained in the classroom.  Apart from integrating classroom knowledge, students gain valuable work experience and develop a network of industry contacts. Students in the Stafford School of Business are required to undertake at least one 3-credit internship as part of their degree requirement.

Bbusiness leaders share their experience in the industry, their career paths, and their best advice while students get the opportunity to network with employers in one-on-one or small-group settings.
