    Beyond the Classroom

Experiential Learning

Experiential learning is a process. It can take a variety of forms and helps to demonstrate the relevance of our four-year curriculum. Students can forge a deeper understanding of business and test-drive their interest in pursuing a certain career path. Students are empowered to connect the classroom to practical applications. We create the conditions for students to experience transformational learning.

Opportunity Access

We work with our business stakeholders to host key events designed to foster student engagement, competitiveness,  and community involvement.
  • Business Outlook and Forum is both an educational opportunity and a networking event that connects students with expert panelists and ABAC leadership to explore the economic and educational landscape in preparation for the future.
  • Innov8ga supports student entrepreneurs and educators across Georgia. The conference is a great opportunity to network and learn from best practices in entrepreneurship education happening across our state.
  • Resume Workshop - In concert with our Career Center, we provide training to help students write an effective resume.
  • Student Townhall -  We gather students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in dialogue that shapes our School.

Internships

The internship program at the Stafford School of Business is a structured and supervised experiential learning process that provides students with practical experience in a field of their choosing.  It is an illustration of the relevance of the academic curriculum in the professional world, and a learning experience that provides for applying knowledge gained in the classroom.  Apart from integrating classroom knowledge, students gain valuable work experience and develop a network of industry contacts. Students in the Stafford School of Business are required to undertake at least one 3-credit internship as part of their degree requirement.
