What You Will Study:

You will receive the same phenomenal general education core that all ABAC students study in their first two years as a Stallion. In these classes, you will learn and work alongside students from every single major on campus, gaining insight from and sharing experiences with a diverse cross-section of the student body.
Following your core curriculum, you will dive deep into several areas of study focused on building your skill set. Depending on the track you choose, you will select courses from a broad catalog of options, including areas such as:

  • General biology and organic chemistry
  • Botany, zoology, biochemistry, and genetics
  • Research methods
  • Cellular and molecular biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Ecology and evolution
  • Soil science and fertilization practices
  • Conservation and natural resource management
  • Human anatomy, physiology, and other medical fields of study.

Some of the most important learning, however, happens outside the classroom and through a variety of internship opportunities with business, government, nonprofit, and other organizations, you’ll have the chance to put your learning to work. In addition to honing your skills and growing your knowledge base, you will also be making connections to a network of colleagues and contacts who will help guide you after you complete your degree.

Career Paths:

With your bachelor’s degree, you will be started on a path to a number of rewarding careers or areas of
interest, including:
• Research and development
• College/university lab technicians
• Technical work with government agencies
• Medicine
• Pathology
