Carter Arts and Lecture Series Brings lecturer John B. Edwards to ABAC Campus
The Carter Arts and Lecture Series at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Bainbridge (ABAC) is proud to present an evening with lecturer and novelist John B. Edwards on Tuesday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
Edwards has more than 45 years of law enforcement experience and has used his knowledge to write four books and many publications on criminal investigation, police operations, leadership, and management. He has received national awards and recognition for his work and, in 2014, was selected for the Georgia State Governor’s Public Safety Award for his outstanding contribution to the profession.
Edwards currently travels throughout the United States lecturing for federal, state, and local agencies, colleges and universities, and law enforcement associations on the topics of police and public safety operations, leadership, and management while also holding seminars based on his books, “The Burden of Command” and “Homicide Investigative Praxis.” He has also authored two novels - “Sunlight Over the Marshes,” which centers on drug smuggling in coastal Georgia in the 1970s, and “Darkness Under the Oaks,” about organized crime in Georgia.
The event, which is part of the annual ABAC Arts and Culture season, will take place at the Charles H. Kirbo Center on the Bainbridge Campus. The Carter Arts & Lecture Series, named for former President Jimmy Carter, is committed to enhancing the educational experience by bringing compelling speakers, distinguished authors, and performing arts to the ABAC Bainbridge campus. These events are designed to bring the campus and wider public together to educate, inspire, and spark imagination. The lecture is free and open to the public with no ticket required.
