ABAC police department earns state certification

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College's Police Department recently earned Georgia State Certification from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.

“I am extremely proud of our team for working together over the last three years to complete and achieve Agency State Certification status for the ABAC Police Department,” said Chief Frank Strickland, chief of ABAC Police.

”This certification is a testament to the dedication and hard work that our police department demonstrates every day,” said ABAC President Tracy Brundage. “Chief Strickland and his staff take a great deal of pride in everything that they do and we, as a campus, greatly appreciate their efforts.”

Certification not only requires a thorough review of current policies and practices but ensures the application of state law enforcement standards by an agency. The ABAC PD was rigorously reviewed by experienced law enforcement professionals and passed through two committees for review before certification was awarded.

“Achieving state certification demonstrates your agency’s ongoing commitment to building community partnerships and public trust through continuous review and adherence to best practices and standards,” said A.A. Ayers, executive director of the GACP. “GACP would like to thank you for strengthening the state certification program and for being a true blueprint for success in the field of law enforcement.”

This certification is in effect for three years.
